Thermal analysis methods for composites

The Swansea University Materials Research Centre has many years of experience in material characterisation, and a wide range of testing facilities to provide information on thermal and mechanical properties of composites.

In this presentation we will demonstrate the use of
• Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
• Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA)
• Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA)

and show how these techniques can be used to investigate

• Material Degradation
• Oxidation behaviour
• Structure and Composition
• Viscoelastic Behaviour
• Thermal properties
